That's me! About Me
Hey!  My name is Bob Burton.  I received my B.A. in Mathematics from Rutgers University.  I am currently teaching high school math at The Leadership Institute in Bronx, New York.  I live in Kearny, New Jersey with my family.

Cubing History
I first solved the cube back in May of 2001.  I eventually developed some of my own algorithms and used a fairly simple solution which was pretty inefficient and required about 80-90 moves (once I "mastered" it) to solve the cube.  It was essentially about 13-14 looks to solve the cube.  My best average with that method was 37.85 seconds and I achieved a non-lucky best time of 29.44 seconds with it.  In February, 2005 I decided to convert to the Fridrich method in which I solve the cross, the four corner-edge pairs, orient the last layer, and finally permute the last layer.  It took three weeks of February to learn how to solve the F2L as corner-edge pairs and get used to solving the cross on the D-face, three weeks of March to learn the 21 PLL cases, half of April and all of May to learn the 57 OLL cases, and two weeks of July to learn the 40 COLL cases.
